Gabriellla

Gabriella is made from Li-qua-Che, a pourable papier mache, which despite its fragile quality, is a very strong and versatile medium, entirely suitable for doll making. It has a smooth, satiny texture which resembles porcelain and gives a realistic appearance to the doll. She has been poured and dressed by me, but the original sculpture is by the doll artist Stacy Hoffman. Her hands and feet are by Doreen Sinnett.

Gabriella is a gypsy, with chocolate brown eyes, red lips and dark brown hair.  Great detail has gone into her costuming.  She wears ivory Swiss batiste lace trimmed pantaloons.  Two tulle petticoats give her skirt the required flair.  Her petticoat is made from white Swiss batiste, trimmed with red silk and lace. Her dress is ivory chiffon hand embroidered with mirrors in reds, greens and oranges for added ethnicity.  Gold beads have been used to accentuate the mirror work on her skirt.  Her blouse is red silk trimmed with cotton lace.  Her jewelry comprises of hoop earrings and a necklace with a cross. She is posed holding a deep red rose.

She stands at about 5 1/2 inches and  is a perfectly scaled dollhouse miniature.  She would look wonderful in a rustic outdoors setting, or just add her to a doll collection, where she could stand out as a unique handcrafted piece.

All my dolls are accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity.
