Nadine

This unusual beauty has been named Nadine.

She has been poured in Flumo, which is a wonderful doll material and lends a beautiful translucent and satiny effect to the doll. Nadine has been poured, painted and dressed by me, but the original sculpture is by the doll artist, Stacy Hoffman. The hands are sculpted by Dawn Adams.

Nadine has soft brown eyes framed with dark eyelashes and rose lips.  She is costumed as per the 1850's.  She wears silk drawers and a lace trimmed silk petticoat.  Her elaborate ball gown is in a rich shade of plum, with her bodice and overskirt in two lighter but complimentary shades.  Her dress is trimmed with antique lace which has been hand dyed on her bodice and overskirt to match.  I have further decorated her dress with enamel effect lavender and pink flowers.  Her shoes have been painted to match her outfit and her fingernails are a soft rose.

A portion of her hair has been curled on top of her head with the rest of it falling in soft waves over her shoulders.  Enamel effect flowers have been used to embellish her hair.  Her only jewelry is a bead necklace with a floral pendant and a pair of dainty gold earrings.

She stands at about 6 inches and  is a perfectly scaled dollhouse miniature.  She would look wonderful in an elaborate setting, or just add her to a doll collection, where she could stand out as a unique handcrafted piece.

As you can see, I have experimented with a variety of photographs both in terms of angle and lighting.  Whilst some of these pictures bring out her colours nicely, the others lend  her an almost ethereal quality which captures her very essence.

Nadine is for sale for $199 including shipping.
