Nee'ir

"Life flowed around her, like her element, water. She could put her hand in it and cause a ripple, or she could just relax and go with the flow. Now, Nee'ir was not concerned. She knew, that whatever happened, she would always be there. Without her water, there was no life. "

Nee'ir means "water" in Hindi and is the last faerie of my four doll elemental series of sculptures.  She has been sculpted and posed to closely resemble the element water.  I have also tried to depict her with an aura of softness and beauty, much like the flow of water.  She is posed on her base, which has been decorated to resemble a rock with several streams flowing from it.  As the pictures suggest, Nee'ir can be posed in different ways on her base.

Nee'ir has been hand sculpted in Prosculpt Polymer clay over a strong wire armature. Her realistic fair skin tone has been built up in several thin layers using artist's oils.  Her level of sculpting is detailed with extra attention given to her features, hands and feet.  I have attempted to capture realism in her facial expression and eyes.  The attention given to her hands and feet is clearly visible in the carefully rounded toes and separate fingers.  Nee'ir is a Pure Sculpt and absolutely no molds have been used in her creation.  Like my other sculptures, Nee'ir is a unique OOAK sculpture and will never be repeated.

I have used the colours of water in her costuming.  This effect has been brought out by shades of blues, greens and turquoise.  Her pale blond tresses of Tibetan lamb's mohair compliment her fair skin tone perfectly.  Her hair has has been curled and styled in a manner flattering to her face.

Her costume has been made from hand dyed and carefully draped silk illusion with her top being made from turquoise, lapis lazuli and malachite gemstone powder, mica and a subtle glitter, and has been held together by a variety of binders and sealers.

Her wings are made of real semi-precious gemstone powder and I have used powder from turquoise, lapis lazuli and malachite, to closely resemble the blues and greens of water.  The gemstone powder has been combined with glitter and other components and later sealed. Although the wings are not removable, they can be gently posed if necessary.

Nee'ir measures about 7 1/2 inches in her reclining pose and has a wingspan of about 6 inches.

Her decorated base is included, which is why I will request a higher shipping cost as I prefer to ship the doll and the base in separate packages for protection.

Like my wind faerie Vahyu, earth faerie Dharti and fire faerie Agni, Nee'ir is an elemental faerie.  The set of all four elemental faeries are a unique set and none of these will ever be repeated.
