Reynard

Reynard has been poured, painted and dressed by me, but the original sculpture is by the doll artist, Doreen Sinnett.

This absolutely gorgeous 17th Century Cavalier is called Reynard.  He has been poured in Flumo which is a wonderful doll material and lends a beautiful translucent and satiny effect to the doll.  His hands bend at the elbows and his legs at the knee, and as such the doll is fully pose-able.

Every aspect of his creation has extreme attention to detail.  His colour and skin tone was such that I thought he would make a wonderful redhead, so I decided to off-set this by also giving him green eyes.  I have given his expression further detail by drawing very light character lines on his face.  As a result, he has a natural and realistic expression.

Reynard is clad in the finest silks in co-ordinating colours.  His trousers are a soft camel, his jacket beige brown and his waistcoat a matching green-brown hand woven fabric. I have used silk ribbon lace and altered it slightly using rows of olive green cording to trim his jacket. Gold buttons adorn his waistcoat.  Reynard's costume is completed by an extravagant hat trimmed with feathers, typical of the era.  He wears hand tooled leather boots.

He wears his hair long and curled.  His beard and moustache are neatly trimmed to a fashionable length.

Reynard stands at about  6 inches tall and is a perfectly scaled dollhouse miniature.  Put him in any 17th Century setting and I am sure you will be pleased with the results.  He would also be a worthy addition to your doll collection.
